Terminals are End Points for Line Sections. They allow Line Sections to be ended somewhere other than just Substations (i.e. the border between two States). Line Sections are given two End Points: A Starting Point and an Ending Point. Normally these end points are Substations, but in a variety of cases you may want to start or end a Line Section somewhere more arbitrary than a Substation. When this occurs you can create and use a Terminal (a.k.a. pseudo-Substation).

To manage the list of known Terminals, use the 'Terminals...' menu item on the Application's main window.

Note: Terminals are 'Division' based; meaning they must be associated with a 'Division'. Therefore, when creating or editing a Line Section's end points the only Terminals that will show up in the list of end points will be those associated with the same Division in which the Line Section being edited is in.

To gain access to actions that can be performed on a Terminal record utilize the context menu that is accessible via clicking the right mouse button on the Terminal, within the list, you wish to edit.

To mark an existing Terminal as a Substation (capable of containing Equipment, and showing up on the main window's treeview) simply click on the 'Mark as a Substation' button. Once marked as a Substation the Terminal will no longer be visible on this window and can be edited (and even set back to being not a Terminal) via the Substation window.
