Calculation Methods define the Method used during the thermal ratings calculations of Line Section Equipment.

Calculation Methods relate to the ambient values, associated with Parameter Sets, that are to be used during thermal rating calculations. Every Line Section is assigned a Calculation Method (i.e. Non-PP7, PP7, PP8). Each "Parameter Set" is assigned ambient values for every Calculation Method. When equipment thermal ratings are calculated the chosen Parameter Set's values associated with the Calculation Method assigned to the equipment are used to determine the thermal ratings.

For example:

Parameter Set: "80/20" may have the following values

80/20 Non-PP7 Values 80/20 PP7 Values

When calculating thermal ratings for equipment within a Line Section tagged as being a PP7 Line Section and when the "80/20 Parameter Set" is selected on the Line Sections window,

Line Section Form 80/20 Parameter Set

then the above PP7 ambient values will be used in the thermal rating calculations.

A user with the proper privileges (see: User Roles) can manage the list of known Calculation Methods.

Calculation Methods can be created, modified and deleted from the "Calculation Methods" window.
